LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Try burning at 8x, your drive is failing to burn the cheapo media you're using at 'max' (16x). Better still buy some decent discs - Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC)

Better still buy some decent discs - Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC) It worked perfect, thanks for the quick reply. I received these cheap dvd`s free with the purchase of my desktop so I will be sure to go buy a quality disc soon!

I had the write speed set to 8x so what else am I doing wrong? Ultimately these problems are caused by poor disc quality? Edited November 13, 2010 by Leibel7979
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 You're using cheapo media, I mentioned that in my first post. The drive doesn't like the stuff you're using now and it's failing. You need a good drive/firmware/media combo to get a decent burn - so something is wrong with yours. Changing the media is the easiest thing to try. If it still fails with decent media, you'll know it's your drive that's at fault.
