phaedrus Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I followed the guide How to create a single layer DVD Video image file using ImgBurn but was unsuccessful. I was able to copy the contents of a DVD (not protected) to the hard drive. My purpose was to create an image minus some of the content. I wanted to get the content down to under 4.7 GB so that I could burn to DVD rather then using a dual layer DVD. I dumped several of the Video VTS files but when following the directions ImgBurn seemed to balk and would not bild. One of several errors along the way was that ImgBurn could not find one of the VTS files that I removed : ) I am guessing I need to edit something such as an IFO file but I was unable to determine which one and I could not open them in WordPad and Notepad just looked like gibberish to me. Is there a guide available that will show step by step how to remove files from the Video folder and then burn an iso file from that? I have attached the error log. TIA.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 As you now know, you can't just remove stuff by deleting it and hoping for the best. You need to load your original VIDEO_TS folder into something like DVD Shrink, Nero Recode, CloneDVD etc and remove the bits you don't want via proper means.

I would like to preserve the contents exactly as they are. I may be mistaken but DVD Shrink will not do that and Nero Recode although I am not familiar with it sounds like it will "recode" the files. Do you know if CloneDVD will do what I want that is to remove selected files and preserve the remaining files as they are so that I can then use ImgBurn to create the ISO? TIA.
