ecsales Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) After burning to several CD's (Verbatim) and a (Verbatim)DVD without any errors during the burn the disk remains empty, no files on it. I'm attempting to create a Boot disk from a Spotmau downloaded File. Am I using the right Mode ,Write Image file to disk? Why would it not write something when it states that the burn was successful? If the source file was not compatible it would give me an error, I had no errors. I've downloaded the Spotmau file twice now with the same results. Help!!! BTW Spotmau was very adamant about using ImgBurn and provided a link to download it. I 09:48:19 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! ecsales Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 Read the pink box up the top please. (Hint: ) This is no help at all. How about a link to the solution, that would be a huge help.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Ok, I guess it didn't click. Let me put it another way... POST THE LOG
ecsales Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Ok, I guess it didn't click. Let me put it another way... POST THE LOG OK it "clicked", you must be patient with me since I have the "oldness" to quote John McCain another moron from Arizona. I posted the log on the original post.
ianymaty Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 The log shows the burn and verify succesfuly. ImgBurn has done it's job perfectly. Did you try to boot from it? I 09:50:16 Source File File System(s): None That ISO has no file system. You won't see anything on it with Explorer. On the other hand you are using an old version of ImgBurn. See my sig for update.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 You should download that ISO again, I don't think it worked properly the first (or second) time. Maybe try with a different browser or using a download accelerator.

Thanks for the affirmation of no sys files. I suspected that could be the problem. No, it doesn't boot. I downloaded the iso file three times twice with Internet Explorer and once with Mozilla. I couldn't even unzip it with 7zip. I have a broadband connection almost a T1 speed so I don't think that's the problem. I ordered the cd at the same time I placed the download order. So I guess I'll just have to wait for the cd to arrive. Conclusion: Spotmau's file is the problem. Without a sys file it would never work. Back to Mac!!!
