Canon EF-S 18-135mm IS or EF 28-135mm IS USM ?

I'm after a lens with a better zoom that the one supplied with my 400D and I know some people on here are into their cameras :)

I've been looking at these two and wondered if anyone had any experience of them and could help me decide which one to get.

Both of them can be picked up for around the £220 - £240 mark and not the £560 quoted on Canons website!

a great place to look is here http://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=107&order=desc , seeing results is always a great decider

a great lens for the price is this http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/EF_Lenses/Zoom_Lenses/EF-S_55-250mm_f_4-5_6_IS/ but that would not be as wide angle as the ones you listed yourself

i have the 28/135 you listed above and it is a good lens, just not as good as their L series which are seriously expensive

here are a couple of shots taken with it on a 400d
