Help! I tried to burn a DVD for the first time using a SONY 4.7gb DVD RW but the laptop appeared to give up after completing only 5% of the process.

 

I killed the process as it seemed to hang at this point.

 

I have copied the message log here and should be grateful for any advice:

 

I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post but am not sure where to turn.
