Very new to this application and after following the guides to make an ISO then burn it, I got that error. I used to use dvd shrink but lost my nero so that does not work anymore. This is a new disc and have tried it with three other blanks. Any guidance appreciated!

You are trying to burn a ~7GB image onto a single layer DVD that only holds 4.4GB. You need to use a DL DVD, it would be preferable to user DVD+R DL Verbatim discs.

I have done this for a few disks in the past and this same series even and did not get that issue with dvd shrink. Are you telling me that I now need more expensive disks to avoid buying a new nero?

Well clearly DVD shrink did NOT shrink your image, go back and check your settings because imgburn is telling you that your image is over the capacity for a single layer disc.

 

A single layer DVD-R holds 4,707,319,808 bytes

A single layer DVD+R holds 4,700,372,992 bytes

 

Your image is: 7,344,816,128 bytes

 

Therefore you need to check your settings on DVDShrink since obviously it did not shrink to DVD5 (single layer).

 

If you do not wish to use a more expensive disc (in this case double layer (DL)), then redo the entire DVDShrink process.

Worked! Issue resolved, thank you very much Rincewind!

 

For some reason I had multiple ISO files in the same folder and ImgBurn just did not show me the file sizes, I went out manually and found the shrunk 4GB file and deleted the 7GB file then re-ran ImgBurn.

There's a version of DVDShrink floating around that automates burning with ImgBurn.
