Rincewind Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 First update imgburn to 2.5.4 and also try burning at 4x instead of 2.4x.

What is the reason to use an external drive when you have two internal capable to do the thing?
Jimbo Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 First update imgburn to 2.5.4 and also try burning at 4x instead of 2.4x. Thanks for the reply. I have been using Img for years before this update, often with this media @2.4 don't really think this is the solution.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 There is a no hard and fast solution to this issue of yours. Your drive/firmware/media combo should just work... but obviously it's not, so now you need to try something else. If you only had 1 failure, just forget about it and move onto the next disc - it could have just been a duff one. If all your discs start failing, either the spindle is faulty or your drive is dirty/faulty. Changing the write speed can sometimes help. There's nothing to say that 2.4x produces the best quality burns for your drive/firmware/media combo - and that's what you're aiming for at the end of the day, the best quality burn possible. Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. Try another spindle of discs. (stick with the decent MKM-001-00 / MKM-003-00 dyes)
