volvofl10
Yup, the failure rate is HIGh with ritek , the onlyD/L media worth using is verbatim . on studying your logfile, it appears that it starts to write layer 2 ok, then not long after it gives up. i 16:35:18 Writing Layer 1... (LBA: 2036704 - 4063816) W 16:35:43 Failed to Write Sectors 2037024 - 2037055 - Write Error your firmware seems up to date so its down to the media im afraid
chewy
Revision CH16 2005-02-22 I would like to get my hands on one of those drives, and put on my trenchcoat(flasher outfit), funny feeling, it's a benq 1620.
cornholio7
just to back up what volvo says, stick with verbatim for dual layer. you can burn their 2,4x rated discs at 8x and they still work - they really are that good. ( they dont scan too well at 8x but they still play) check the review of some ritek d-01 here http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=

Does verbatim supply any of the well known brand names or should i just stick to packages that say verbatim? thanks
cornholio7
i buy verbatim branded dvd+r d/l and dvd-r and dvd+r
Movie Junkie
I also stick with the Verbatim branded. That's the best way to go. Btw...just because you've gotten good burns don't trust them. You're just wasting your time in using those discs because you'll need to do them over once you get the Verbs. VERY IMPORTANT! DO NOT USE THE DVD-R DL DISCS. STAY WITH THE DVD+R DLs. Good luck. Kenadjian
Yup, as per all posts above. Success=media-media-media. In this case Verb +R DL.
