ed e k Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Here's an interesting bug for you; My setup, after a burn, reports many "miscompares". I've reviewed the forum and have found a small number of people have reported similar problematic results. I decided to try a couple of things before retiring my drive. Step 1; create iso file with Decryptor. Step 2; burn and verify with Decryptor. Results; Success, no miscompares. (see log below) Step 3: burn and verify with Imageburn using same iso file. Results; many miscompares during verify process. (see log below) Step 4: Verify ImageBurn burn with DVDINFOPRO. Results; NO miscompare problems reported, DVDINFOPRO states "They are Identical". Is it hardware? Change drives using same USB interface, same computer, same iso file, etc. Test 1; Pioneer DVR-A05 Results; burn and verify with ImageBurn, no miscompare issues. Test 2; Lite-On iHAP422-98 9 Results; burn and verify with ImageBurn, no miscompare issues. Summation; Imageburn always reports "verify" miscompares with BenQ DW1655 Decryptor has successful "verify" with BenQ DW1655 DVDINFOPRO has successful "verify" with BenQ DW1655 So there are two programs that state there are no problems compared to ImageBurn which states there is a problem. Which program verify routine is correct? Log files; Decryptor: I 08:31:54 DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 DVD Decrypter didn't compare data, it just checked the sectors were physically readable. If ImgBurn reports Miscompares, there's a problem somewhere in your setup. As to where it's coming from exactly, I've no idea. Can you put that BenQ drive on an internal interface and try it? i.e. so no adapters are being used.
