cphan Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 So I was in middle of burning a video_ts folder and I ran into this problem at about 27%. ....\VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_2.VOB Reason: Data error (cyclic redunancy check). What does that mean? Is there a fix?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Post the actual log please. At this point, I suspect there's an issue with your hdd (a bad sector) or whatever the 'source' drive is.
cphan Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 How do I get an actual log please. I hit retry a few times and it still pop up those errors. Gone through 2 TDK discs. So far this is the only movie folder that I'm having problem buring with the new TDK disc.

Cynthia Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 E 17:48:25 Failed to read file: 'E:\Downloads\Eclipse\VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_2.VOB' The problem is you harddisk (?) named E: that has an error that makes it impossible to read the above file from and compare it with the same file on the burned disc. You should run a disk scan to see what's the issue with that hard disk. It might be dying for you.
cphan Posted January 9, 2011 Author Posted January 9, 2011 Okay stupid question but what do you mean run a disk scan? How? If it's a problem with the E drive, wouldn't it effect the other torrents too?
Cynthia Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/kbtip.mspx Might be that just a few sectors are bad and they are occupied by just one of your downloaded files.
cphan Posted January 9, 2011 Author Posted January 9, 2011 Ok looks like you were right. The E drive was a secondary drive that I like to store my download stuff to save space away from the first main drive. Think I'll temporary move all the download stuff to the main drive and reformat the second drive to see if that it a better way of fixing what other problems maybe lurking.
