randomofamber Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Hi, I have problem with behave ImgBurn. ImgBurn changed Booktype on DVD-RW to DVD-ROM. Untill version "2.5.4.0" ImgBurn allowed to erase or rewrite this discs, but in new version "2.5.5.0" it is not possible. Strange behave is, that if I burn with "2.5.5.0" it is still change Booktype to DVD-ROM on DVD-RW, but than I am not able to erase or rewrite DVD-RW disc with DVD-ROM booktype with "2.5.5.0". I tested It repeatedly with various situations. I renstall application, uninstall and install, reset setting etc... My OS is Windows 7 x64 and drive is Samsung "TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223F SB03"... Now I use old version "2.5.4.0"...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Can you post a log please, none of that makes any sense and I didn't really change much in 2.5.5.0. You can't even change the booktype on DVD-RW. There are programs that make rewritables look like DVD-ROM discs - i.e. Alcohol 120%, DAEMON Tools etc. You need to turn off the options that do it in those programs.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 ImgBurn isn't doing anything wrong there, your drive is reporting the disc to be a DVD-ROM. There's nothing I can do about that, it's out of my hands. What does the program actually say when you try to erase the disc? You may well have to tell it that it's a DVD-RW discs, but don't worry about that. I don't know which DT you're running, but in the latest version of DT Pro Advanced (4.40.0312) you have to click 'Tools' -> 'Preferences...' -> 'Advanced' and ensure the 'Hide CD-R' option is unticked.
randomofamber Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 YES, you're right about DT and "Hide CD-R"... I'm sorry that I was not attentive and thank you wery much...
