Whether building a data disc (usually a single .MKV file) or burning an .ISO for a DVD video, I'd say two thirds of the time I will get a read error (such as CRC). If it's a 7.94 GB .MKV file it will be very close or exactly at the middle of playback. In the case of a DVD video it will also be more or or less around the middle mark unless it's of smaller size, in which case it will be around the 60-65% mark, so it's clearly a problem with the layer break.

I've had this problem for practically 3 years now, have tried various media brands mainly including Aone and Infiniti, and various drives ranging from Samsung to LG to Pioneer, trying out different burning speeds, with no other applications running etc.

Can someone please point me in the right direction as to what I'm doing wrong or what I'm failing to do.

P.S. In some instances the discs are fine when tested straight after the burn but come up with the problem when used after some time has elapsed.
