Lourson Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Hello all-please be gentle as I'm not technical at all....(!) Trying to burn an ISO image to disc. Recently (& I have tried lots of different medias!) I've been having (75% of the time) errors in burning discs. I've got the latest imgburn & never burn at full speed-usually at x4. Is it something I do wrong/an IMGBURN setting issue/or is my lazer burner knackered???! It's all very frustrating! Please see below the log of my most recent failed attempt....I wonder if any of you good folk could explain in 'baby' (!) terms what's wrong/what I need to do? Thanks in advance! //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 - Log ; Tuesday, 18 January 2011, 11:49:11 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 11:44:54 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! Lourson Posted January 20, 2011 Author Posted January 20, 2011 Hi....anyone any further ideas? Am working from noon so access to the net will be a bit sporadic but can get on-line briefly...!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Sorry, not really. You have an old Intel 845 chipset board there and it handles the IDE ports itself. Normally I'd associate the problem you're having with non-Intel controllers (or much newer chipsets running in RAID mode with old drivers). Try downloading and installing either of these (top one is newer if it works): http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=16938&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?lang=eng&DwnldID=8178 Please open the 'Filter Driver Load Order' feature in the 'Tools' menu within ImgBurn, click 'Copy To Clipboard' and then 'Paste' that info into your next reply.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 There's no 'e' in my online name - I do not reduce the weight of stuff Thanks for the filter driver info. Unfortunately, it all looks clear! Have you tried burning at 8x? Do you get the same problem? What about 12x or 16x? I guess now you'll have to try your drive in another PC or try another drive in your PC.

I shut down heavy memory programmes like outlook & any explorer windows.Still not able to verify as some issue with 'cycling' tray??? So will report back if new settings burn every time. I know some 'fails' will be crap media.....but I'll also deffo shut down heavy memory use programmes in future. Thank you for all your help-will keep you posted!
