Jon.Graton Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Hello: I have just installed the latest ImgBurn and it looks very cool. However, I'm a bit of a Newbie at this so I would appreciate some help. Here we go... Q1) I have a DVD (Not copy protected) and wish to save it on my HDD and play/interact with it - Is this possible? If so, How? Q2) Same as above, but for my copy-protected DVD's. Q3) Is there a detailed user guide for ImgBurn in a .PDF format? I look forward to your responses, Thanks!
ianymaty Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 1. Make an image. Use a virtual drive to mount the image. Virtual CloneDrive is pretty simple to use. 2. Sorry, that can't be done with ImgBurn. 3. The Guides are pretty detailed.
Jon.Graton Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Hi ianymaty: OK, got it. Just need you to point me to the correct area for creating a non-protected DVD image to mount. I would like it to work, just as if it was in a DVD player, so I can interact with it. Many thanks, Jon :0)
ianymaty Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Use Create image file from disc follow this http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6392&view=findpost&p=66437 Install Virtual CloneDrive http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html make sure it associate ISO files. Than you just double-click the ISO file created, that will mount it and your good to go. If you have autoplay enabled in Windows you will get the option screen, if not, use your player to open the disc, it will work just as you have inserted a normal disc in the drive.
scuzzy Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) I would like it to work, just as if it was in a DVD player, so I can interact with it. ... and just for the record, if your unprotected DVDs are simple movie discs then once you have the DVD contents ripped as .ISO image files on your hard drive you can usually "play" them directly using the VLC media player without having to mount them using any kind of virtual drive software first. (I just right-click on the ISO file, choose "Open With ..." and then select "VLC media player".) Edited January 25, 2011 by scuzzy
