CreateNPlay Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 So today i installed a new Samsung SH-S223C SBO6 drive. Heres the log when i start up Write. I 19:06:19 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 19:06:19 Media Center Edition (6.1, Build 7600) I 19:06:19 Total Physical Memory: 4,192,760 KB - Available: 2,747,796 KB I 19:06:19 Initialising SPTI... I 19:06:19 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 19:06:19 Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM! So i load my .dvd, then.. Then it stays at Getting Disc Control Block Information... And does nothing. If i try and close it the process wont close and the disk drive becomes unusable until i do a restart. I'm Using Verbatim DL disks and have updated my drive to the latest firmware, ideas? Thanks.
Rincewind Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Well you bought a new drive, but are using a rather old version of imgburn. Update to 2.5.5
CreateNPlay Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 It's burning now but i got the Write speed miscompare thing etc, Wanted 2.4x got 4x and its bruning between 2.4x and 4.0x atm, is that a problem? It's an Xbox 360 Backup Btw.
Rincewind Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 (edited) It is not a problem, but it appears the drive you have cannot write your media 2.4x so it is automatically sped up to 4x. Also the idea behind burning slower produces a better burn is a myth, just get it out of your head. It is best to burn faster with DVD media anyways. Also remember to verify your burn once burning finished. Edited January 24, 2011 by Rincewind
