Bazz1953 Posted January 30, 2011 Share Posted January 30, 2011 This started under 2.5.4.0 and is still happening under 2.5.5.0. ImgBurn recognizes my blank disk, TYG02 and Verbatim RW, and starts the write process. When it gets to the end a notice comes up saying 'cannot synchronize cache incompatible medium'. If I say retry I get the same thing, if I hit continue sometimes it completes the disk and the disk plays fine in my dvd player. Other times it just continues saying incompatible medium. This is the last 25% of the same batch of TYG02 which have always been fine. The Verbatim RWs have always worked as well for the last year. LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 30, 2011 Share Posted January 30, 2011 Your problems are drive/firmware/media combo related. TYG02 are about as good as you're ever going to get so that just leaves the drive and firmware. The firmware is the latest version - dating back to 2003. So that just leaves the drive. It's probably about time you got yourself a new drive. Yours must be 8 years old now. If nothing else, I'm sure it could do with a clean (using a cleaning disc).
