Open imgburn, click write files or folder to disc, then drag over your avi, and then burn.

Note if your intention is to play this as a dvd-video disc, then imgburn will not help you since it only burns data as is. You need a dvd-authoring program to convert your .avi file into files that are found in a dvd-video disc, (vob, ifo, bup files) in a VIDEO_TS directory.

Whatever you did, you got to have a VIDEO_TS folder with a set of .ifo .bup .vob files in it, otherwise it won't work. Read the guide of the program you use.

The size of each of the biggest files will be max. 1GB (1023,9 MB) in order to comply with the standard.

Here is the guide to burn that set of files http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=4632

The size of the files will depend, of course, on how large the AVI itself is. This will mean how long it is and what compression method was used to make it.

I use ConvertXToDVD, a non-free application, to convert such files. The resulting DVD VOB files can be very small, but, as I said, the size depends on the conditions listed above.
