Hi there. I have used IMGBurn successfully for well over a year now. All of the sudden it just stopped working.

I have tried uninstalling it and re-installing it 4 times.

I have tried shutting down my computer and re-booting it. I have scanned for viruses- nada.

I have no idea what has caused this. When I put a disc in- it "buffers" to 100%, then just stops. I was getting an "Invalid address for write" message, now it's just stuck and has been for 45 minutes. I was trying to burn another DVD to get the full log with the "invalid address" message, but it's just stuck.

I have ruled out a drive issue, as I also have DVDshrink and just burned 2 DVDs using DVDshrink to my hard drive and it was fine.

I have always sent in donations via paypal- so I can rule out Karma also. LOL

I make my living burning DVDs and I ONLY trust IMGburn to burn my DVDs so I am up a creek unless someone can help.

here is my log- thanks in advance.

Try with the other supported write speeds - i.e. 8x.

Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc.

Try with some better quality media - Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC)

The 'Invalid Address For Write' error normally pops up after something else. It's the first error that's important, not what you get from the 20 or so retries.

OK I tried changing the speed- and still the same thing is happening.

I am sure it's not the drive- I just bought this computer 1 month ago. I am able to write discs using DVDshrink- I just have no way to write to a blank disc.

Is there anything else I can try? Thanks in advance. =)

DVD Shrink can't actually burn.

It hooks into Nero, DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn and they do the heavy lifting.

This is a drive/firmware/media combo issue, plain and simple. Nothing else comes into it.

Switching the 'Write Type' in ImgBurn's settings to 'Incremental' might work around the problem but it's not a real fix.

A real fix would be to buy decent discs that the drive can burn properly.

I tried different discs- same thing. I even have a "stand alone" burner- that is burning both types of DVDs just fine. I am using that today since I cant use IMG- but all my masters are on external HD - I use IMG to get them from my HD to a disc.

I just tried going to my back office computer- it's a completely different computer that has IMG burn on it also- BUT the version of IMG Burn on my back computer was downloaded at a completely different time and date as the one on this computer.

It worked fine last weekend when I burned some DVDs on it. Now I just went back, booted up that computer to use that to use IMGburn- and I had the *same exact problem.* - IMG did the same exact thing it did on this computer- I put the disc in- it "buffers", runs for about 10 seconds then stops.

Any thing else I can do? I am desperate at this point.

I am sorry- can someone help me with the "firmwear" issue? I have tried everything else- Im not 100% sure what firmwear is, but I see from other threads here that downloading it has helped. Can anyone tell me where a safe download of this is?

I am so sorry I am being such a pain- I love IMG Burn and use it burn 20+ discs daily, so I am desperate.
