ltfdfitz
In reading the documentation for the DR-830A, it indicates that both DVD+R and DVD-R can be used in this drive. DVD+R works great on ImgBurn, but when I go to Tools>Drive>Change Book Type, then select Samsung, it will only let me choose a DVD+R setting. What am I missing and/or doing wrong. Please advise and thank you in advance for any reply you send.
Cynthia
DR-830A Sure it's not a DRU-830A? Not sure I understand you. You want to book type -R media?
ltfdfitz
Sorry, you are correct, it is the DRU-830A. What I would like to do is utilize the 100 TDK DVD-R discs that I have, and about 30 of the same that are Sony that are writable for ink-jet printers to burn movies and TV shows to. If that is what you are asking, yes, I do. When I use the Samsung book type setting, I then change the new setting to DVD-ROM so it can be played in numerous DVD Players, not just ones that read either book type. Am I making any sense? If not, I will stop pursuing the topic. Again, thank you in advance for your response.
ianymaty
It's not possible to booktype DVD-R, only DVD+R (SL and DL). Put the settings back and just burn the DVD's there will be OK. The DVD-R (minus) is more compatible to older players than DVD+R (plus), that's why probably you are confusing things.
