UnterGang Posted February 21, 2011 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Hi all and thanks for reading my post and having patience with me (The Noob) hehe i´v been burning dics with my plextor Px-860SA (Firmware 1.0 witch is the latest) and not had any problems , but suddenly many of my discs wont Finalise in the end. I can Burn the .iso file of a DVD movie no problem , But it just Wont Finalise the DVD making it unreadable in most DVD players i tried i´v tried to read as much i can in the forums but cant find someone with the same drive and problem (thou i find a few with plextor drives with the same issues) i narrowed it down to the Book type Setting and followed the instructions on how to change it, BUT when i go into the settings and want to change it My "new setting" option is greyed out and i cant change it as im writing this just before i need to go to work i hadent had time to figure out how to put the pictures of my log and such in the forum (yes im new at this) But i just wanted to start with this soo you have a general idea of my problem , and as soon as i get home again i´ll ad the pictures for a better overview You can write me here if you know a fast way to add the pictures here since it want´s me to link to the pictures and i dont know how (in this writing momemt) I thank you for your patience and im sorry if this is a repeated question somewere in the forum Regards UnterGang (a burning noob) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They don't support any booktype commands - that stuff is built into the firmware and cannot be changed without modifying the firmware itself and reflashing the drive. We'll await your log files. At the moment it's set at 'MAX' which equals 18x for your drive/firmware/media combo. If that doesn't work, buy some better quality discs - Verbatim (non 'Value' line) or Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC).
