maggarawr Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I've tried numerous things, and numerous programs to burn dvds, and I can't do it. I was wondering if anyone could help me out and tell me whats wrong. here is my log from imgburn: I 17:02:51 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! I 17:02:51 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 17:02:51 Total Physical Memory: 1,039,732 KB - Available: 533,376 KB W 17:02:51 Duplex Secure's SPTD driver can have a detrimental effect on drive performance. I 17:02:51 Initialising SPTI... I 17:02:51 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 17:02:51 -> Drive 1 - Info: HL-DT-ST CDRW/DVD GCC4244 B101 (D:) (ATA) I 17:02:51 Found 1 DVD-ROM/CD-RW! and when i go to actually burn it to the disc it says 'device not ready (no reference position found)' is this something I can fix, or can I not burn dvds? I have no problem burning cds, so I was just wondering. on other programs it either won't give me the option to select d: or when it does and I put a blank dvd-rw in, it basically doesn't read that the disc is in there... So, just wondering, any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
mmalves Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Your drive is a CD burner and DVD reader, also known as a combo drive, and, as you might have guessed, you need a DVD burner in order to burn DVDs
