wobbly Posted February 24, 2011 Share Posted February 24, 2011 I've been burning Verbatim DVD+R 16x media MCC004 (000) MIT with IB at 8X with an ASUS DRW-24B1ST 1.04 firmware. Initially I had great scans, but now I am getting high PIE at the start of the disk (150-200) and then it subsides to below 10 at the 0.5 GB mark. I have attached scans of before and after and a log file for the after. The log file for the good scans got trashed when I re-installed IB to see if it would help (it didn't, and I didn't know the log would be deleted). The only things that I changed from the point of getting the good scans were. 1) I turned on OPC in IB 2) I added the DRW-24B1ST in the Drive OEM tab under Lite-on 3) Enabled OHT under the Lite-on tab. I though that this may have caused the change in scans so I removed the DRW-24B1st for the OEM tab and reset the Lite-on settings and cleared the OPC History. This did not change anything. After that I unstalled IB and installed again. Any thoughts on what is causing this high PIE at the beginning? All the DVD's are from the same spindel burned and scanned under the same conditions.
