ianymaty Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 None of the 3 writers produce a good disc? Please confirm that you are using the current 2.5.5.0 version. Post a log as the pink box above instructs.
realtreat Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 i am using version 2.5.5.0 this issue has been since version 2.4 i have a ide plextor 870 and sata plextor 870 and a pioneer 116 ide also a samsung 2010 model these burners do produce good disks. this TOC system freeze error i'm having only happens using imgburn regardless of drives or media or what format i'm burning. its 1 in 3 im getting a toc system freeze and have to press reset switch on my tower. strange to me when everythin is upto date bios/drivers/firmware.(also checked for programme conflicts) using alcohol 120% works great no errors and get perfect burns with no issues. clonecd latest version no problems perfect burns alcohol 120 latest version no issues perfect burns clonedvd latest version no issues perfect burns nero 7 full. no issues. imgburn runs ok on my old dual core system with the same drives.
realtreat Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 i cannot produce a logg with the error if the system freezes up. no error logg can be created.
ianymaty Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Start ImgBurn and post what you get in that log. Than I'll leave others to help if they come up with something.
realtreat Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 ; I 18:46:39 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! I 18:46:39 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 18:46:39 Total Physical Memory: 3,406,948 KB - Available: 2,290,316 KB I 18:46:39 Initialising SPTI... I 18:46:39 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 18:46:39 -> Drive 1 - Info: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-116D 1.09 (H:) (ATA) I 18:46:40 -> Drive 2 - Info: PLEXTOR DVDR PX-860A 1.00 (D:) (ATA) I 18:46:40 -> Drive 3 - Info: PLEXTOR DVDR PX-860SA 1.00 (E:) (ATA) I 18:46:40 Found 1 DVD±RW, 2 DVD±RW/RAMs and 2 Unknowns! I 18:50:18 Close Request Acknowledged I 18:50:18 Closing Down... I 18:50:18 Shutting down SPTI... I 18:50:18 ImgBurn closed! This is the logg the main drive that freezes up when a disk is completed is the PLEXTOR DVDR PX-860A - possibly imgburn doesnt like my plextors but the freezing at the end of a successful burn as happend to all my drives. even my pioneer 219 and 118. gets to 100% then before the disk says 100% completed it checks toc and feezes the system. 1 in 3 all the time. but it has done it 3 times in a row before. any ideas. maybe imgburn doesnt fully supprt my drives. but surely not them all i have a good few.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I 18:46:39 -> Drive 1 - Info: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-116D 1.09 (H:) (ATA)I 18:46:40 -> Drive 2 - Info: PLEXTOR DVDR PX-860A 1.00 (D:) (ATA) I 18:46:40 -> Drive 3 - Info: PLEXTOR DVDR PX-860SA 1.00 (E:) (ATA) I 18:46:40 Found 1 DVD±RW, 2 DVD±RW/RAMs and 2 Unknowns! That doesn't make any sense based on what's being displayed. Have you edited that log? Burn something, have the log window clearly visible on the screen (and as large as possible under the main window). Before it gets to the end where you say some 'TOC' issue pops up (or just at any time before/during the burn really), press the F8 key to enable I/O debug mode. Then, once your system freezes, just take a picture with a normal camera / phone / whatever if you really can't copy + paste. Please also copy + paste your filter driver info - use the feature in the Tools menu.
realtreat Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011 ok will do. but i think i've sussed the issue. i removed the plextors and used my samsung and pioneer as master n slave. disconnecting the plextor drives. so far so good no issues. i think imgburn just didnt like the plextors being there. the TOC error never displayed an error message. when a disk was 100% completed it would then say sumthin like checking toc and then the whole system freeze. hopefully fingers crossed i won't have any more toc issues. if i do i will then take a picture with my phone and post image here. and show a logg of a successful burn, I 18:46:40 Found 1 DVD±RW, 2 DVD±RW/RAMs and 2 Unknowns! - i think the 2 unknowns were my plextors as the samsung and pioneer are perfectly detected and have had no issues. so all good at the moment.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 No, the working drives were the Pionner and Plextor ones. Notice your Samsung wasn't listed during device enumeration. That would have been one of the 'Unknowns'. Only you know what the other one should have been. Anyway, it sounds like you've sorted out your lower level controller / I/O issues and now your machine doesn't hang. Good job.
realtreat Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 yep seems all good now. no system freezing. thanks.
