r2d2c3po Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Hi - I'm trying to burn an ISO which is about 7.5GB to a Verbatim 2.4x DVD+r DL (8.5GB0. When I put the blank disk in the drive, it spins for a bit then says Device Not Ready (No Seek Complete). I have a Thinkpad T42, with a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-812 K103 (ATA) drive. I have never burned anything with this drive. I put a commercial film DVD in the drive, and ImgBurn printed out this in the right-hand window: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-812 K103 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD-ROM Disc Information: Status: Complete State of Last Session: Complete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Sectors: 4,143,064 Size: 8,484,995,072 bytes Time: 920:42:64 (MM:SS:FF) TOC Information: Session 1... (LBA: 0) -> Track 01 (Mode 1, LBA: 0 - 4143063) -> LeadOut (LBA: 4143064) Physical Format Information (Last Recorded - L0): Book Type: DVD-ROM Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: 10.08Mbps Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,270,207 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded - L1): Book Type: DVD-ROM Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: 10.08Mbps Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,266,071 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Layer Information: Layer 0 Sectors: 2,073,600 (50.05%) Layer 1 Sectors: 2,069,464 (49.95%) However, when I put the blank disk in, this is what is displayed in the right-hand window: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-812 K103 (ATA) Current Profile: N/A I have a pack of 20 Verbatim disks; I've tried 3-4 of them, all with the same results. Any hints?
mmalves Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Right-click on the burner's name and go to Capabilities, is DVD+R DL ticked under Write Capabilities? From what I've found on Google it seems your burner only supports burning DVD-R/DVD-RW media at 2x, no support for DVD+R or DVD+R DL media.
r2d2c3po Posted March 13, 2011 Author Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) Thanks! You're correct, it does not support DVD+R DL. Ok, I'm going to put up another post, as I'm now trying the same thing on another computer. Different error! Edited March 13, 2011 by r2d2c3po
