Hello, I've been using Imgburn for years and this is the first issue I've ever encountered. It was working fine last week so not sure what's the problem. The log is included below, please help. Thank you.

What controller are you attaching this legacy 'IDE' drive to anyway?

I tried to uninstall the drivers of these 2 devices then restart the pc, same thing happens. All I did was install some windows update and that's it. Not sure if any of these info are helpful but just thought I'd provide as much as possible.

Right, so it's on a Marvell controller. Intel chipsets haven't supported IDE for years now.

 

Marvell controllers aren't meant for optical drives.

 

All I can suggest is that you (re)install the latest driver (v1.2.0.69) from Asus's website.

There's a v1.2.0.71 driver floating around on the web too.

I installed the driver(v1.2.0.69), then tried to update it under Device Manager by locating the driver manually but it didn't change anything. So I updated the chipset driver through ASUS, rebooted and now the driver version I have is 9.1.1.1013, Driver Provider reads "Intel" instead of "microsoft". Not sure any of these info would help but imgburn still hangs. Should I just unplug the SONY dvd rom and see if that fix the issue?

The Marvell controller may show up in a different place to the normal Intel ones - i.e. under SCSI / RAID controller rather than IDE / ATAPI controllers.

 

If you just disable the Sony drive in device manager, it'll do the same thing. No need to physically unplug it.
