x86 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Hello. I use ImgBurn for about 5 years and now for the first time I have big problem with it. I have SATA-drive in my new system: ASUS 24B3LT. It works pretty well, but not in ImgBurn. When I try to create image of CD-R ImgBurn waits for something for about 15 minutes and then the drive disappears from OS. Here is the ImgBurn log: I 15:17:20 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! mmalves Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Update your chipset/storage controller drivers (this website might help).
x86 Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Update your chipset/storage controller drivers (this website might help). But why Daemon Tools CAN create ISO using that drive? Maybe there is some incompatibility between Daemon Tools and ImgBurn... Anyway, my OS automatically updates all drivers via Windows Update and www.ma-config.com finds only my current drivers.
ianymaty Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Don't rely only on Microsoft drivers. They are often outdated in regard to the maufacturer drivers.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 When it's 'waiting', what does it say in the statusbar at the bottom of the main window?
x86 Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 When it's 'waiting', what does it say in the statusbar at the bottom of the main window? Nothing. The 'waiting' is between 15:18 and 15:31 in the log: 15:18:03 Operation Started! I 15:18:03 Source Device: [1:1:0] ASUS DRW-24B3LT 1.00 (E:) (SATA) I 15:18:03 Source Media Type: CD-R (Disc ID: 97m28s26f, Multi Media Masters & Machinary SA) (Speeds: 16x) I 15:18:03 Source Media Sectors: 303 637 I 15:18:03 Source Media Size: 621 848 576 bytes I 15:18:03 Source Media Volume Identifier: <name of the disk> I 15:18:03 Source Media Volume Set Identifier: <name of the disk> I 15:18:03 Source Media Application Identifier: CDIMAGE 2.52 (03/09/2004 TM) I 15:18:03 Source Media File System(s): ISO9660 (Bootable) I 15:18:03 Read Speed (Data/Audio): MAX / 8x I 15:18:03 Destination File: <Path>\<name>.iso I 15:18:03 Destination Free Space: 641 301 282 816 байт (626 270 784 KB) (611 592 MB) (597 GB) I 15:18:03 Destination File System: NTFS I 15:18:03 File Splitting: Auto I 15:23:21 Abort Request Acknowledged E 15:31:23 Operation Aborted! - Duration: 00:13:20 E 15:31:23 Average Read Rate: N/A - Maximum Read Rate: N/A W 15:31:23 Device Removal Detected!
mmalves Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Your storage drivers are messing up when ImgBurn is communicating with the burner: notice the device removal message and the burner is gone from the list of drives.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It seriously says nothing at all in the statusbar?! As in it's totally blank without a single bit of text in it? Believe me, that doesn't happen very often! Do it again and have another look for me please.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Not if your drive / machine gets stuck processing a command, no. It's out of my (ImgBurn's) hands. Which motherboard do you have? What controller is the drive connected to?
x86 Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 Motherboard is ASUS P8P67 (LGA1155), the drive is connected to Marvell SATA 3 controller. I'll try to connect the drive to Intel SATA2 controller tomorrow.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 That's the thing to do. Don't put optical drives on the Marvell controller.
x86 Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 It works perfectly on Intel controller! Thanks to everybody!
