L0 Data Zone Capacity Miscompare! and Spindle Servo Failure using Verbatim media with new LG external please help!

Ive had 5 successful burns using memorex and verbatim and now i keep getting these errors. Before it would just say L0 Data Zone Capacity Miscompare! in the beginning and then fail at 51%. Now it instantly fails with the servo error. Heres the log:

Two issues, that could indicate a dying burner. The other speeds like 4x, 6x, 8x - also gives issues?
