landontc Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) I've had this drive working perfectly in my Windows 7 x64 environment for quite some time. This drive is attached to a VIA 6421 SATA/IDE adapter on the IDE slot. I've gone through all the various drivers for the VIA 6421 card as that is the only thing that I can think of that would have changed when I reinstalled Windows. However, I recently reloaded windows and have had nothing but trouble since then. About half the time it hangs at Searching for SCSI/ATAPI devices and the other half it finds the drive but then says Not Ready No Additional Sense Info (or something close to that). If I let it sit for a long time, it will go very slowly through things like "Getting Capabilities" etc., but this is taking several minutes to happen. This is the debug log currently with it now sitting at "Getting Capabilities." You can see the three minute gap between "Interpretation Inquiry" and the next line. landontc Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 Nevermind. I found the exact driver for the Via controller that I was using and it's working again. Crazy that the controller only works with that one driver.
zxspectrum Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Yeah...but i'm having the same problem and i don't know my last driver since i last used it last year when i installed w7/x64. the log is actually pretty small here As you can see in the log below...none of my samsung writers are usable.I want to mention that this happened suddenly at the exact time that one imgburn was finished writing and switching to verify... suddenly the other imgburn that was set to the other writer poped the error with CDB and then i noticed that the writer that just finished writing the disc stopped ...reported some error, dont remember exactly cause i dind't thought i will write this post.I only decided to write after search for the exact CDB code error and found this post. Personally i think it has something to do with intel raid drivers (Intel RST reported some error at the time that the writers became unusable) but i cannot tell for sure. So, if anyone can help with any ideea...would be great.
