BlizzardUK Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) I can only post the log for one of these errors as the other one requires me to turn off and on my machine as it just gets stuck, so I am guessing this means it is not able to write a log. Normally the traxdata Ritek blu-rays I use are perfect every time, I am unsure if this latest batch is just bad or if there is another reason. One of the errors I get is a "tracking servo error", see log below. The second error I get is that it stalls right at the start on "reserving track", or words very similar, and each time I can leave it for ages and it never moves on, and I can't cancel, so I have to literally turn off the machine as even shutting down via Windows doesn't work as it stays on the shutting down screen for ever. The blue light stays on without flashing on the front of my burner. Out of about 10 discs, 6 have given me either one of the two errors mentioned today. I know they are not a high quality brand but I have burnt over 200 blu-ray discs with this make and burner and had less than 5 coasters probably, so I stuck with what I knew worked. So can I put this down to a bad batch, or does my burner sound on the way out ? Or perhaps a update on ImgBurn has changed something ? Log for error 1............. ianymaty Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Maybe cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc will help. Try burning at 2x instead of MAX (4x) Also try discs from different spindle to rule out the bad batch.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 If you've burnt 'RITEK-BR2-000' before ok with your drive and at that speed (4x), it's probably just the batch of discs. Do give 2x a go though if you haven't already done so. The error is purely a drive/firmware/media combo issue, the software doesn't come into it. (edit: oops didn't refresh before posting - so now I'll just back ianymaty up )
