Hemmo Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 I executed the installer and immediately my AV said that it has discovered a PE Compact virus in imgburn.exe Has anybody else seen this or is this just a false positive that I should complain to my AV vendor (F-Secure Anti Virus Client Security 6.0).
kevdriver Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Hemmo, almost positive this warning is false positive. I believe PE compact is a compression program used for larger downloads to make them faster and easier for the downloader to get. DVD.org is a very reputable site .
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Someone already emailed me saying fsecure picks it up as a virus. I believe they were going to mention it to the fsecure peeps that it's not. PECompact is indeed just a compression program.
rejer Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 kaspersky antivirus has virus warning PE Compact Sorry I don't speak english.
cornholio7 Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 pe compact is a compression programme not a virus imgburn is virus free
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Redownload the program from the ImgBurn mirror, I've reverted to a different version of PECompact (+ fixed a few other bits!) and it should be fine.
