the_bishop Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Hi! First off, thanks for this forum!! After a successful burn, the dvd will not stop spinning and will spin forever if it is not ejected. After I eject the dvd and reload, the dvd is empty. I am baffled. Rincewind Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) I 16:53:08 Write Type: Incremental Any reason why you are using incremental? That could be the cause. Go to tools -> settings, write tab, and on page one select DAO/SAO instead of incremental. Afterwards try again. Edited May 16, 2011 by Rincewind
Cynthia Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I 17:20:33 Average Write Rate: 1,279 KB/s (0.9x) - Maximum Write Rate: 2,084 KB/s (1.5x) You selected 4x. Either the discs are some no names ones (crappy) or you are in PIO mode with that burner.

I was originally burning with DAO/SAO (with the same problem, spinning) then switched to incremental as was suggested on another thread.

the_bishop Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 UPDATE: I loaded the burned dvd into my gf's laptop and the files WERE on the dvd. Why do you think my dvd burner will not read the dvds? It shows the burned DVDs as blank still.

I'm not sure the JVC ones are as good as the original Taiyo Yuden ones but they should still be fine. As such, you have DMA issues. Follow the post in the FAQ that tells you how to fix them.
