Ashutosh Rathore Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 ImgBurn is a nice app no doubt I'd burned more than 100 DVDs and CDs with it,but recently it started to show some freaky error maybe this error occurred after I reformatted my system...This error shook me up!! ianymaty Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 There's a later firmware for your drive (2.00), currently you have (1.02) installed http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GH22NP20/files.html
mmalves Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Flashing firmware when there's a communication problem between the burner and the system could easily brick (technical term ) the burner, so only do it after solving the problem.
ianymaty Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I should have mentioned that in my post to flash it after the communication problem was solved. Sorry
Ashutosh Rathore Posted May 20, 2011 Author Posted May 20, 2011 Okay!! How will i resolve this problem...I have seen all the previous posts related to this problem but am not getting to to resolve it.SO please help me out.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 The error you're getting has been covered loads of times. Go back to the link in post # 2 and read the search results.
Ashutosh Rathore Posted May 20, 2011 Author Posted May 20, 2011 Well I do that but i am not getting how to solve it.In many posts you have said that check the cable, check whether the drive is set on master etc etc..frankly speaking I did not know how to check these...
mmalves Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Run SIW, go to Hardware -> Motherboard, select all the lines on the right and copy/paste them here. Alternatively, you could try using this website to look for new drivers for your system devices. If newer drivers don't solve your problem then you'll need to learn how to check cables/master-slave jumper/etc or ask someone to do it for you.

cornholio7 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/?iid=dc_iduu try going here and run the intel driver update utility, click on 'check your system for the latest updates' and it should tell you what you need otherwise as mmalves stated above you'll need to learn how to check cables/master-slave jumper/etc or ask someone to do it for you
Ashutosh Rathore Posted May 22, 2011 Author Posted May 22, 2011 All drivers are current...but I said previously not all drivers are digitally signed as drivers related to IDE are not digitally signed.
mmalves Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Boot into safe mode and try burning a DVD-R with Test Mode enabled, so as to not actually write the disc but simulate the burn process. Does it work this way? Please post the log.
Ashutosh Rathore Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 Okay i will do it and post the log here...
Ashutosh Rathore Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 Sorry for the late reply.. Well this week i tried my luck and on my own risks do these things: 1. Checked the tape like belt connected with CD ROM and mother board.. 2. Checked the jumpers situated at the CD ROM drive...the jumper was at the middle i shifted it to the right most.. But these thing doesnt solve my problem before doing these thing I burned a image in safemode THe following was the log: I 16:30:11 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Have you tried replacing the cable for a decent new 80 wire one? If not, do so. If you only have 1 drive (the burner) on the cable, make sure you configure the jumpers to 'Master' on the back of the drive. You want the motherboard connected at one end of the cable and the drive at the opposite end - leaving one blank connector in the middle.

And its also new... The jumpers are set to master..
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 ok well you need to try another one anyway. Get a new 80 wire IDE cable and make sure it's as short as possible. Do you only have the 1 drive on that cable?
Ashutosh Rathore Posted May 28, 2011 Author Posted May 28, 2011 Okay.. Yes only one drive My CD\DVD rom..
