LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Advanced -> Restrictions tab on the main gui.
dontasciime Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 Thanks sure i tried that. I know ISO 8859-1 ignores it. Will give it another look
dontasciime Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 Actually i ticked it and must have unticked it again without realising, it fine now cheers
volvofl10 Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 and check "allow more than 8 directorys" box just done it with 9 folders within another folder, works ok
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I have to at least default the options to be inline with specs - even if the options are very annoying! lol Glads you're sorted now though.
dontasciime Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 I tried a few times after ticking allow more than 8 Dir and each time failed, which is why rather than say its not working etc, wondered if there was another setting i was missing, Crappy mouse i am using at the minute left click is dodgy, you hear the micro switch click but does f all sometimes. Defaults as you mention are always the best for standardisation Stunning additions to your program yet again.
lfcrule1972 Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I wondered about this restriction when doing a back up the other day - what will happen if I ignore the 8 levels setting and exceed that limit ?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 If you read the disc in the OS, probably nothing bad. If you read it in an old standalone that only has enough memory (and coding) to read 8 levels, it'll either crash or just not see those extra folders.
blutach Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 If you are doing backups for Window$, there is abolutely no harm going further than 8 deep. It will read them easily. Regards
lfcrule1972 Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Cheers fellas - yeah I intend to read them back int he OS (Xp Pro) so should be no issues, thanks for the confirmation.
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I wondered about this restriction when doing a back up the other day - what will happen if I ignore the 8 levels setting and exceed that limit ? I tried this stuff out during testing and it worked fine at 15 levels. Worked fine creating huge (3oogig+) ISOs too. Takes a while though.
lfcrule1972 Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I am going to try a it out when I am on holiday, I tried once before, got the warning and forgot to ask what would happen when I ignored it
