What if the layer break is already in my DVD files?

Great work with v2!

I use TMPGENC DVD Author to make my own DVDs... I used to burn using the PGCEdit method to take care

of the layer break.

DVD Author places it's own layer break information in the IFO files.

Will the new IMGburn use this layer break in build mode? Or will it remove it and chose a new one?

Thanks

not sure, so im trying it now.

suggest you try it in "Build to iso mode" and see what happens, you can also refer to Cornholios guide Creating a double layer ISO on your hard drive using ImgBurn

i have only used dvdauthor for single layer DV5 media myself ,when you use IB you have options/recomendations to decide where you want the layer break yourself.

My tests show if you select a different layer break when prompted by ImgBurn, it will replace the existing one. I don't know if you can tell from ImgBurn's popup which of the layer break choices was originally in the IFO.

It'll probably be the one with the highest rating!

At the very least it would have SPLIP set to 'false'.

The layerbreak is a physical thing on the media, you can't just look at IFO's and know for certain any one particular cell is THE one the authoring program intended to be use for the layerbreak. That's why you get the box where you can then choose from a list.

So when you see that box, select the correct one in the list and click 'ok'.

So that pretty much answers my question..

I just need to select the one with the highest rating, and imgburn should take care of the IFOs...

Thanks!
