Daze90 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Currently I am trying to burn an ISO that is roughly 3.5 GB onto a DVD. Every time I start the process the buffer reaches 100% and nothing else happens. It just sits at "Writing Lead-In" and nothing changes. I 13:47:04 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! Out of all of the threads I've seen so far people seem to just replace their drives and move on. Is this the only fix or do I have any easier options? Thanks in advance for your help, it is much appreciated.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Buying a new drive is the last resort. Your next step should be to buy some decent media. You want the MCC/MKM dye Verbatim discs (so not the 'value' range) or some Taiyo Yuden ones. You might also like to try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc.

Are the MCC/MKM dye discs a special type of Verbatim disc or are all of the Verbatim discs using that?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Well I haven't run into any myself, but I understand there are some 'value' type ones that use a lower quality dye - therefore with a different MID (Disc ID). I'm sure if you hunt around a bit you'll find an online store selling Verbatims that includes the disc MID in the product description etc. So to answer your question, no, MCC and MKM aren't special, they're the 'normal' ones (for me anyway).
