Whidgle Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Hi, im having problems burning a xbox game to a DL disc. The disc type is TDK DVD+R DL 8x disc. and im using a Samsung SH-S223C Drive. I know i should use Verbatim discs but then i'd have to order them and that takes time so. Ive used these discs before, about 20 times before with no problem. But this time ive wasted 4 discs with no effort. So i dont think its entirely the discs fault. I updated the SB, to SB06 since that seemed to be the current one. Here is the log from imgburn: I 02:37:57 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! Rincewind Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) Also it seems imgburns changes the write speed automatically regardless of what write speed i choose. Thats because of this: I 02:39:27 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 4x; 6x; 8x) And you chose: I 02:39:27 Write Speed: 1x If 1x is clearly NOT an option, it will simply override your choice, and 2.4x is also not an option on your drive, nor it is an option on the media. By the way 1x is never an option on ANY kind of DVD media anyways. Your only other choice is to go and try burning again, (new disc of course) either at 4x or 8x. It is also quite possible you just have a bad disc out of the spindle. Edited June 28, 2011 by Rincewind
Whidgle Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) Regarding the speed, that time i actually just tried taking a lower speed to see if it still changed it. so it didnt really matter what i chose. And i have wasted 4 discs by now with the same result. either getting error while burning or when it gets to the verifying part so i dont really know what to do by now EDIT: Noticed there were more updates on the samsung site than just the SB06, you think they might be worth downloading, or more or less what are they, and what do they do?
