Please chek the atached file screenshot my question is, is my dvd burner broken or is there somthing else wrong ? since a while, when i try to burn a new dvd in the end it gives my this message and the dvd is useless. :-( thanks again for your help ! have a great weekend grtz lvddoel

LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Update the firmware on your drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Asus/DRW-1604P/files.html Try burning at 8x instead of 5x (which doesn't exist anyway - hence 4x is being used).

lvddoel Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 (edited) hmm bad news, did just try to burn another dvd same issue again, any ideas? another firmware update? thanks again ;-( i did not folow your advice: Try burning at 8x instead of 5x (which doesn't exist anyway - hence 4x is being used). but this went ok first time i tried second time it failed i wil try burning at 8x or 4x and let you know if this fixes it thanks again! LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Clean the drive with a cleaning disc. After that you should probably get a new drive. It should not be having problems burning MCC-004-00 media.
