xavdeman Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) I've recently got a new Samsung drive. The SH-S223C which I've updated to the latest firmware: SB07 While burning a DL-DVD I got the error: W 01:00:36 Write Speed Miscompare! - MODE SENSE: 11.080 KB/s (8x), GET PERFORMANCE: 8.310 KB/s (6x) Now I read the topic http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=11300 In http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=11300&view=findpost&p=100927 post number 9 Lightning says it's a bug in that drive's firmware and later, in post #18 he says "Yes it's done, I have worked around the issue with these drives.". Maybe this drive needs a workaround too, since the disk ended up being unreadable in the majority of the drives I have. I also think it's strange that it miscompares to 6x, but the log says: I 01:16:54 Average Write Rate: 8.659 KB/s (6.3x) - Maximum Write Rate: 11.174 KB/s (8.1x) So the speed has been fluctuating a lot. Cynthia Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Even if it burned ok, it can still be a crappy burn. Verify would check that. W = Warning E = Error
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 The Write Speed Miscompare issue there is not the same as the one talked about in that thread. No workaround is necessary. You just have this problem... http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
