MrJane Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) Insert dvd, Img burn does not recog, cannot eject disk. My laptop is making a loud whirring noise and all the 'action' lights are blinking so i think it's working hard on something. All the options on imgburn were greyed out so i thought maybe it needed some time to recalibrate or something so i booted up solitare. 30 mins later, it's still working or something. I tried to close imgburn and it wouldn't go, it froze, so I force quit it. The loud whirring continues and the dvd won't eject. I have to HARD shut down and then on the windows start when everything is still loading back up will it eject I don't think it's imgburn. proabably my drive. My laptop is only a 6 month old Asus and it's good to go and powerful but I never tried to burn anything on it. The DVD was an R and blank so it should have worked. Trying to burn an OS for a new computer build that is on hold only due to making is OS on the dvd laptop specs @ win 7 x64 http://i52.tinypic.com/nxkvax.jpg Help? Thank you EDIT: I tried looking for a log here http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=14632 but my folder it goes to has nothing in it?? Edited July 27, 2011 by MrJane
ianymaty Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 What it say in the status bar? Most probably the drive don't like the disc. What brand is that disc? Try Verbatim. Update chipset/storage drivers. This site may help. http://www.ma-config.com/ Right click on drive selection box (or go to Tools/Drive...) and go for Check for firmware updates... If there is a later one available install it and try again. Remove the disc from tray before doing this.
MrJane Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 Ok thanks boss. Will get back to you on this.
MrJane Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 I'm guessing it was a bad dvd because I just burned two copies successfully or at least the prog says they were successful i am burning an OS and will try to install it on new comp build very soon
ianymaty Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 The prog can say it was succesful the burn but only the verify part will tell you if the disc is good. I guess you let it verify, don't you? Can you post the log for us to see what's there? Look in Help menu.
