I know it's been around quite often but still i couldn't find a helpful hint yet, so I'm asking.

Why is it, ImgBurn gives me an error at the lead-in already? It doesn't even start writing.

unbenanntzjsc.jpg

I'm curious, i had to re-setup my pc about a week ago, before, no problems burning TDK DVD+R DL discs, since, no chance of doing anything, with verbatim DVD+R DL 8xspeed

got latest drivers on my drive

Try with a lens cleaning disc.

Try 8x as the disc is rated, try the other speeds available too.

Posted (edited)

different speeds didn't work so far, although I'm not through all of them.

but i got another error message

EDIT : Happened twice, all the other times, imgbrun quits with the previous error, although the failing sectors vary

EDIT : Still no issues burning single layer disc

strange ...

right after burning single layer dvd, double layer dvd works

after the double layer, it won't do it again ?!

Posted

This is just a hardware problem (drive/firmware/media related), there's no magic fix for it.

If you've tried all the supported speeds and it happens at each of them then you've done all you can do within the software.

Maybe it's heat releated, maybe the drive is dirty, maybe the drive is faulty (burning DL's is harder than burning SL's), maybe the discs are faulty.
