Wormopolis Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 just like this topic http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=10714&st=0 which I read through and it seemed a solution was never able to be tested, I am having difficulty creating a firmware upgrade disk with imgBurn. I have not upgraded my player with a disk from panasonic, so if you want to continue trying to find a setting that works, Im up for it.
Wormopolis Posted July 29, 2011 Author Posted July 29, 2011 and I just realized I somehow posted this in general forum instead of support. My Apologies.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Ok so just switch the 'Data Type' option to 'MODE2/FORM1/2352' and the 'File System' option to 'ISO9660'. Burn and see if it works. If that doesn't work, try with the 'File System' option set to 'ISO9660 + Joliet'. With the right combination of options, there's no reason we shouldn't be able to get ImgBurn producing a working disc. Once we've figured it out, I can make the program detect a firmware disc build and automate setting the correct options (to make it easier for others / you in the future).
Wormopolis Posted July 30, 2011 Author Posted July 30, 2011 tried both of those. neither worked. tried so far: mode 1 - ISO9660 mode 1 - ISO9660 + joliet mode 1 - ISO9660 + udp mode 2 - ISO9660 mode 2 - ISO9660 + joliet plus tried a couple of things with that "do not append ;1" to filename option being checked or unchecked.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 What model player do you have and where's the download for the firmware you're trying to use? I built a firmware disc for a random panasonic player the other day using XP's built in burner (which is supposed to work ok) so I know exactly how that disc looks. It uses 'ISO9660 + Joliet'. Both file names in both file systems have the ';' on the end of them. It burns in Mode2/Form1/2352. It makes a multisession disc (i.e. you can still add data to it). Your discs did just end up with a single file called PANA_DVD.FRM in the root yeah?
Wormopolis Posted July 30, 2011 Author Posted July 30, 2011 Panasonic BD30K bluray player. and If I werent running vista I could have done it with XP's native ISO burn. but alas, vista found another way to mess with me. I was advised to use a 3rd party burner and your program seemed to have the most positive reviews. firmware source page: http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/bd/download/bd30/bd30_na.html attempting to burn version 2.9
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Ok, please check if following BIN/CUE produces a working CD. If it doesn't, I'm going to make a slight change to the CUE file and send you a new version of ImgBurn to test with. http://www.2shared.com/file/yx5AE_r3/BD30NT_V29.html Please post the log of you burning and verifying a disc (with that image) so I can double check it's working as it should be.
