fasterthanlight Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 (edited) I can't seem to find anyone who has had this same error, so I decided to make a thread. I'm trying to burn a duel layer dvd and this is the error i get, at around 19% complete. I get an I/O Error with the following log. I 17:29:06 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! I've burned this same dvd with the same hardware and disk so I think its something to do with the software. Edited August 1, 2011 by fasterthanlight
Cynthia Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Same issue with 4x as write speed? Low quality media can be a bit of hit and miss.
fasterthanlight Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 I'm trying again with 4x. My friend moved my laptop last night while a DL dvd was burning and it hasn't worked with dual layer ever since
Rincewind Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 (edited) If you plan on burning DL media, don't even bother doing it with your notebook's burner. You are better off investing in a normal burner with an external USB 2.0 enclosure. Notebook drives are useless at producing good quality DL burns. Also: I 17:31:02 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: CMC MAG-D03-64) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x) That is pretty much the worst kind of disc you can get, let alone for DL. Even Ritek media is better than CMC stuff but still not recommended. This guide has pretty much the best suggestions, and I recommend you read it: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 Edited August 1, 2011 by Rincewind
fasterthanlight Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 Well, I tried again at 4x and it worked. Huh. I also put a small piece of tape on my drive to hold it more straight in line with my computer. Shoddy hardware I guess.
