Defenestration Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 To aid in sorting graph data files (I store them all in a single folder), it would be preferable to use the ISO date format of YYYY-MM-DD instead of the current DD-MM-YYYY. With the current format it is not possible to sort the resultant graph files into ascending/descending order.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Click on the 'Modified' column in explorer! lol %d and %D use the system wide date formats (being the 'long' and 'short' ones), I don't format them that way manually - but I'm sure you already knew that.
Defenestration Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 Any chance of an option/new format specifier then ? It's just that the ISO date format is much more useful for analysis purposes IMO.
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 What for? So you can wile away Saturday nights sipping a light brandy and loading up past burn graphs searching for the meaning of life?
lfcrule1972 Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Honestly that suggestion wasn't serious was it ? I have hundreds of graphs on my HDD and have no trouble saving them, storing them and retrieving them when required....
blutach Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 It's just that the ISO date format is much more useful for analysis purposes IMO. We, out here in the boonies, actually like dd/mm/yy. That's the way we write it. Get real - It hardly aids, or hinders, "analysis". Please try to see past the end of YOUR nose defen. All this "me" stuff is getting irritating, if you hadn't figured that out. The prog is not totally user configurable. It also cost you nothing. Live with it. Regards

LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Whilst funny (on some level), replies like that won't help you! You have some good ideas Defenestration, it's just shame you rub everyone up the wrong way by going on and on and on and on. As you've been told before, if you want a tool to do exactly what you want it to and how you want it to, write it yourself. I have no problem adding things if I (we) can see they'd be useful to anyone other than just yourself. I think my first post said everything it needed to regarding this suggestion - use the 'Modified' column to sort them into order.
