Mekelt Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Hi, I'm loosin' some media actually. I've updated the firmware of my drive, re-installed the program (imgburn), cleaned the lens. I've, even, try to burn at safe mode, but didn't work. The process stops at 50% and gives a I/O error message. Generally, when i burn at 4x the process sucessfully ends, but the ABGX points a layerbreak error (I even play that games but at the middle of game, like NFS Hot Pursuit, the game freezes at a nocturne track). Another curiosity about this, it's the fact of sometimes (like yesterdays nite) the process works fine (2,4x or 4x). Here comes the log of the error (and i'll attach my log file), because i'm runnin' out of ideas (and media, and $$): I 09:49:48 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! Try 4x since 2.4x was tested without success. Try some quality discs from Verbatim MKM/MCC not that low quality CMC. If that don't produce a good burn get a new drive. Try a lens cleaner for last resort before buy a new drive.

Try 4x since 2.4x was tested without success." 1x -> bad choice, ok. 2,4x -> error at 50% many times, sometimes a good disk. 4x -> None errors at burn. Layerbreak screwed, ABGX dont detect the layerbreak, same as Xbox. "Try some quality discs from Verbatim MKM/MCC not that low quality CMC. If that don't produce a good burn get a new drive." I'll will try this, but i don't have any idea if this exists here in Brazil. "Try a lens cleaner for last resort before buy a new drive." The lens are clear. (Yesterday i've been cleanin' whith isop. alcohol) A new drive isn't discarted, but ill try everything else before. Thanks
Mekelt Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 Disc ID: RICOHJPN-D01-67 Is it a good media?
Rincewind Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 For DL +R media, MKM-001-0 (2.4x rated oversped to 4x on most drives now) MKM-003-00 (8x), is the only media recommended. These would be 'branded' as Verbatim discs.
Mekelt Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Hi, I'm here again to repply my experience: the medias are working at 4x speed with better quality discs (i'm now using MKM-003-00, from GigaStore). Thanks for the help! [ ]'s
