Ch3m Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 This is either going to be an incredibly hard, or incredibly easy answer - but none the less I'm going to ask anyway. I read in an earlier post - "how to burn a 7GB ISO file to a disc" - or something similar (it's locked now - so I can't post/reply to it) .....but that is my exact question. The exact answer given there was: "It can burn any size ISO, you just need to have the right size media to put it on to. Disc images (ISO etc) are burnt in Write mode" My question is - with my available drives (I have two DVD-burners) -- just how exactly would one burn a 7+GB ISO file to a DVD? They're maxed at 4.7GB are they not? I (mathematically in my head) said "yeah, there's no way you can fit 7 gigs on a 4.7" but I tried it anyway - and obviously got the out of disc space errors. My thoughts then switched to "okay - how about a USB flash drive?" (I have a few of like 120 GB) --- but it never registered on the "Destination" list of available output sources. Long story short - aside from: "It can burn any size ISO, you just need to have the right size media to put it on to. Disc images (ISO etc) are burnt in Write mode" Any other options for burning a larger ISO to disc? Thanks in advance, -Ch3m-
Cynthia Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Instead of using a single layer DVD disc, get a double layer R+ DVD disc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD%2BR_DL
Ch3m Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 ....and there we have it - lol! I kind of figured I was missing something pretty obvious; but it's always good to know someone is here to point it out for ya! Thank you so much Cynthia! -Ch3m-
Cynthia Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 If your burner is not from the Flintstone age, it should support double layer burning.
