LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Could you please post the full log. It just looks like your drive is having trouble burning to the disk. As such, the first thing to check is that your firmware is up-to-date. Click Tools -> Drive. You should find a firmware option in there.
fnbdave Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 i dont know how to do a log? I updated all my drives and disconnected my firewalls before trying the burn so thats not it. COuld it be the brand of disc?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Is the log window visible when you start the program/burn? If not, click the 'View' menu and select the 'Log' entry. Then just highlight all the entries (Ctrl+A) and copy them (Ctrl+C) to the clipboard. You can then paste them (Ctrl+V) into your next post. Did you check here (see link below) for firmware? http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1780 There are lots of machines with a 103 version (rather than your 101) - unless you have a Toshiba laptop of course? Yes it could be the brand of media. That's kinda why the log is important. It tells us all that stuff.
fnbdave Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 I just had a successful burn!! I switched to Memorex DVD-R 4x I switched the write speed to 2x I assume it was the TDK media which was DVD-R 8x everything went wonderful My only question is after the write was 100 completed the disc ejected and nothing happened. I pushed it back in and then it proceeded to verify and then said it was successful. Do i have to do this for every one or will it work after the 100% write is done and not doing the verify? I ask cuz it took about 20 minutes to write and another 5-10 minutes to verify.
polopony Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 memorex discs suck and it will only be a matter of time untill you get more error messages ,pick up some Verbatim discs ther're high quality and great success rate . you dont have to verify the discs as its already burned ,verifying checks the burned disc against the ISO image, if it verifys ok then you have a good disc MATSHITA these drives never had a good reputation I dont know if the newer ones are better .
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 It's up to you if you want the program to test and see if the disc burnt correctly - that's what 'Verify' does. If you're not fussed about verifying your burns, just uncheck the 'Verify' box on the front screen.
fnbdave Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 now there is a problem... when I play the dvd on the laptop it's fine but when i put it in the dvd player it has hits throughout...is this the memorex media??
spinningwheel Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Pop a blank disc in your drive, open ImgBurn and look at the right side window. If you don't understand it, copy it and post what it says, we'll let you know how good...or really bad...your media is. However, Memorex has rebadged CMC Mag for quite a while now and CMC is crap on a stick...
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 However, Memorex has rebadged CMC Mag for quite a while now and CMC is crap on a stick... Without the stick.
