Hi with burning i get Synchronous data transfer errors virtually at the start of burning and it comes up with no write rate and keeps burning without actually putting anything else on the disc except for like 1 percent meaning the disc is the then crap.I got a bdr-206 and with with 1.06 firmware.I get this with bdr and dvdr so i'm thinking its the burner and i've only had it for a month.Any help would be appreciated.

I believe you're only the second person on these forums to ever run into that 'Synchronous Data Transfer Error' error!

It looks like some sort of comms issue to me so I'd be inclined to think it's related to the enclosure you've put the drive in and/or how it connects to the PC.

On the other hand, the drive may have developed a fault.
