ImgBurn stuck at "setting l0 data zone capacity"

Hello everyone, i'm new to the forum but haven't found solution to my problem.

I've been using ImgBurn with no problem for past two weeks. I use it only for burning X360 backups. I also ALWAYS use Verbatims MKM-003-00 and always burn at 2x speed.

Yesterday when I tried to burn a backup, ImgBurn just stuck at "setting l0 data zone capacity". I had to restart my computer. I tried again, and it stuck again. I bought new Verbatim DL and it STUCK again. Nothing seemed to work. I tried different speeds and still nothing. It just always stuck at "setting l0 data zone capacity".

I decided to switch drive from my computer with another computer in the house. These drives are even same model, (ASUS DRW-1814BL). Then I tried to burn the copy with the new drive. Burning process had no problems, but when I put the disk in the X360, it showed "unrecognized disk". So I tried AGAIN with the new empty DVD. But now it stuck at "setting l0 data zone capacity" like the previous drive that I had problems with!

I hope someone will be kind enough to help me with this problem. I burned 15 backups in last 14 days with NO PROBLEM and now this. :/

Thank you in advance!

Try with the latest firmware installed http://www.firmwarehq.com/Asus/DRW-1814BL/files.html

Try the other speeds available, 6x and 8x since 4x was used and 2x isn't available (nor ever was on dual layer).

Also you should update Windows 7 to SP1, it's out for a while.

Thanks for help, I've just done all of this and set speed to 6x but it stucks again.

Anyone?

When the command is first sent (status changes to 'setting l0 data zone capacity'), do you hear the drive making noises?

If it was me, I'd try (yet) another drive.

Or try your current one in another machine with the same media to see if it does the same thing.

This issue is nothing to do with ImgBurn, it'll either be your hardware or something OS related (drivers etc).

Well, I do hear drive making noises. I hear the disk spinning faster then slower and so on.

I don't know how it could be OS related, because I haven't installed anything in past three days that could have caused this.

Although, before this problem happened, I burned a x360 backup for my friend on Traxdata media, although I normally use Verbatim. After that session I have problems. I think it's not related.
