Device Not Ready Logical Unit in Process of .......

I have done this a hundred times. What am I missing. Errors when trying to write immage file to disk. Device not ready. Logical Unit in process of becoming ready. The medium not present. I have tried with brand new Memorex, Verbatim, Maxxell DVd+R. I can install software using the drive. I just installed TurboTax no problems. I uninstalled the DVD Drive driver and let Windows 7 reinstall. Still will not work. Thanks!
