Formatting a new BD-RE disc help

I bought a BD-RE disc to use to test burns so I would stop wasting bd-r discs when I mess up,

 

I went to burn a avchd disc but it said I need to format the disc first.

 

I did a google search and came across someone saying that I shouldn't use imgburn to format a bd-re disc.

 

Anyone have issues with imgburn formatting, or know of what I should use to format a bd-re with

I went ahead and started a full format with imgburn. I unchecked the format without spare areas box in settings.

 

Its been about an 1 hour and 40 minutes and its not done yet, at 99% for most of that. Is this normal?

I assume you know what unchecking that box actually does?

 

The % stuff comes from the drive. So if it's inaccurate, it's not ImgBurn's fault.

 

Copy + Paste everything currently in the Log window.
